  Introduction  
 

The Fundació Formació i Treball (FIT), promoted by Diocesan Caritas of Barcelona, has as main goal the training and labour insertion of people with special personal and social working difficulties to get into an ordinary working market. This is why we offer them occupational training and jobs within the same Foundation.

The second objective of the Foundation is a project that supplies clothes, furniture and household goods and linen to families with little economical resources who are sent to us from different social services organizations (Caritas, City Councils, Parishes and other Organizations). Part of our financing system comes from the sale of second hand furniture and clothes in our Farcells shops, where -at the same time- we give these products a second use.

  
     
  Training and working insertion  
  The Foundation destines most part of its resources to labour insertion. This is materialized through the Labour Assessment Service that consists in job search through individualized support programs. These programs are:

Occupational Training courses
For unemployed young people and adults (subsidized by the Work Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya). The courses can vary year after year but normally are: electrical welding, wall painting, furniture assembling, renovation builder, laundry and ironing.

Working Practices
For Minimum Income Allowance beneficiaries. The objective is to provide a first contact with the reality of the working world, and to work out the essential labour habits in any job.

Working Insertion Contracts

Addressed to people in an insertion processes through temporary working contracts. It allows working insertion and personal support in our premises through productive workshops: collection and handling of second hand clothes and other objects, collection and recovery of second hand pieces of furniture, Farcells shops assistants, furniture restoration and cleaning jobs.
     
  Social Giving Project (PES)  
 

Another important purposes of FIT is to manage the used and new clothing collection and repairing , pieces of furniture and other goods. Good part of this collecting allows people and families with little economical resources to cover their basic needs (clothes, footwear, household goods and textiles , etc.) through no cost or very low prices., which helps to dignify and to value the given goods. The rest is put on sale in the Farcells shops. Besides from giving jobs, the sale of these products allows us to finance the Foundation’s social activities. Many of given products have to be washed, ironed, repaired or reused. This helps many people to learn how to work and acquire the working conditions requested today in an ordinary working market.

FIT is member of AIRES , the Association of Recovering Companies for Social Economy.

  • To develop and help develop good quality and environmental habits and also train our collaborators and workers.
  • The compliance of actual legislation that involves our task and at the same time helps to develop the spirit of non-stop improvement.

 

FIT will settle and improve our daily work regarding quality and environmental  tasks, strictly applying the rules regarding  ISO-9001:2000 and  ISO-14000:2004.

Therefore, Management declares:
  • Its commitment in giving FORMACIÓ I TREBALL  the adequate resources to comply with the Manuals, and related procedures, within our Integrated Management System. 

  • Relying all our personnel in applying today and future policies and rules established in the Integrated Management System.
